چکیده
For people with social anxiety, ongoing exposure to feared situations is crucial for both treatment and the prevention of relapse. The COVID-19 pandemic—with prolonged, often enforced, reductions in people's contact—reduced such may thus have exacerbated anxiety symptoms. In this three-wave longitudinal study (N = 212) we explored whether membership multiple groups could protect against anticipatory for, avoidance of, situations. line our predictions, pre-pandemic group memberships reduced at Waves 1 2 (June August 2020). Controlling participants' memberships, maintained (from Wave 2) predicted lower avoidance, symptoms 3. These findings are discussed an emphasis on how identity theorising cognitive behavioural approaches can be successfully integrated.

This study examined the joint impact of gender and ethnicity on expectations of general discrimination against oneself and one's group. According to the double-jeopardy hypothesis, women of color will expect to experience more general discrimination than men of color, White women, and White men because they belong to both a low-status ethnic group and a low-status gender group. Alternatively, t...

Few collective self-cognitions were accessible for the present participants from an individualist culture. Furthermore, collective self-cognitions were highly associated w...

متن کاملThe More (Social Group Memberships), the Merrier: Is This the Case for Asians?
While previous studies have consistently shown that belonging to multiple groups enhances well-being, the current research proposes that for Asians, multiple group memberships (MGM) may confer fewer well-being benefits. We suggest that this is due, in part, to Asian norms about relationships and support seeking, making Asians more reluctant to enlist social support due to concerns about burdeni...
